Texas Legislators Gather To Update Local Community

HOUSTON—Rep. Kevin Roberts, District 126, Rep. Senfronia Thompson, District 141, and Rep. Valoree Swanson, District 150, are to participate in a panel discussion of the 85th and special sessions of the Texas Legislature on September 14 at 8 a.m. at the Northgate Country Club. The Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce organized this legislative community breakfast to bring together community stakeholders, business owners, and citizens for an update. Former Rep. Patricia Harless will moderate the panel.

“This a great opportunity to keep our elected officials accountable, to get an exclusive update about their work in the Capitol and ask questions”, commented Barbara Thomason, president of the Chamber”. It is our mission as a Chamber to bring public policy issues to our community’s attention”.

The Chamber remains active in working with legislators on local, state and national levels on behalf of the Cypress Creek Community. To support that effort, the Chamber facilitates a board-appointed Public Policy Council, organizes Government Affairs - Transportation Forum meetings, and sends numerous position statements to government representatives.

The event is sponsored by Avanti Senior Living and Steve Austin Group Real Estate. Table sponsorships and Member Spotlight Exhibit Tables are available.

Community members and local business representatives interested in attending or sponsoring this event may register here: bit.ly/09breakfast. Contact the Chamber at 281-440-4160 for more information.
