Texas Master Chorale announces 2017-2018 concert season and auditions for new members
Texas Master Chorale recently returned from a wonderful 10-day, 3 concert tour through Ireland! Concerts were held at St. Nicholas Collegiate Church in Galway, St. Mary’s Cathedral in Killarney and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin.
The season will open on October 28, 2017 with a concert of “America’s Music”. The chorale will perform selections from American composers highlighting some from Texas and even the Houston area.
Our Christmas concert will be held on December 16, 2017, when the chorale will present the Christmas portion of Messiah by George Frederic Handel. As is our annual tradition, an area high school choir has been invited to join us. We are pleased to announce that the 72 voice Cypress Woods HS mixed choir, led by director Jason Womack, has enthusiastically accepted our invitation. Following their presentation of Christmas selections, the concert will close with the combined choirs onstage performing a seasonal piece.
The Spring concert, on April 7, 2018, will close the 2017-2018 season with a selection of beloved favorites from Rodgers & Hammerstein.
All concerts will be at The Centrum, 6823 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379. For tickets ($20-$25), contact the Centrum Box Office at 281.440.4850.
