HOUSTON—The Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce partners with Texas Association of Business and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well as other state and local entities to offer quick assistance to the Northwest Harris County businesses that suffered damages from Hurricane Harvey. The efforts also include registration with the National Business Emergency Operations Center and working with media partners like Community Impact to disseminate valuable information to businesses in a timely manner.

“While the American Red Cross is doing phenomenal work in the Greater Houston Area, that funding helps families. The businesses in northwest Harris County need help now, not just when/if their insurance proceeds are distributed”, said Barbara Thomason, president of the Chamber.

With the growing number of damages being reported, the Chamber established a fundraising page to help small businesses of Northwest Harris County recover quickly.

“It will be a long recovery for everyone in this area”, commented K. Genesis Turner, local business owner. “But we must help our businesses now in order to get back on our feet faster”.

Secure donations can be made here: www.youcaring.com/supportnwharris. Businesses in need and those wishing to help can send requests to ChamberInfo@HoustonNWChamber.org.
All donations will be directed to assist local businesses through the Houston Northwest Chamber Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. Donations are tax-deductible.
