Hippies and Flower Power Return

HOUSTON-Spring-Klein—The Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce is moving forward by going retro to the sixties with a unique Membership Campaign: “Peace-Love & Community”. It launches this week as community leaders gather to learn their roles at a special breakfast meeting at Northgate Country Club. Then in April for two and a half days, over 100 volunteers will work in teams against the clock and each other to sign up new Chamber members and create greater community awareness of the important role of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce.  The event is organized in partnership with Your Chamber Connection and Jimmy Cusano. They specialize in high energy membership campaigns that allow volunteers to conduct “out-of-the-box” membership fun while building the membership base.

Some of the esteemed membership campaign leaders of “Peace-Love & Community” include Dr. Shah Ardalan, president of Lone Star – University Park; Dr. Jim Cain, former superintendent of Klein ISD; Mr. Keith Barber, CEO of Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and Sr. VP of Houston Methodist; Dr. Tyrone Tanner, executive director of Prairie View A&M Northwest Houston Center; Mr. Larry Lipton, Allstate Insurance agent and community advocate; and two couples Ross and Nancy Radcliffe and Sue and Tom Stewart. These community leaders and more will join 1960s Flower Children and Easy Riders to bring about a unique form of community-unity.

“We celebrate the Chamber’s focus on promoting our area as a great place to live, work and to do business,” said Dr. Shah Ardalan, President, Lone Star College-University Park and Campaign participant.  “As a proud member, LSC-University Park actively uses the Chamber’s many resources to augment our efforts to serve as an exemplary community partner.”

“It’s about business,” says event guru Jimmy Cusano. “The Chamber of Commerce is the business community. This brings everyone together to build our Chamber. With a Membership Event they come together in a competitive fun setting and tell the Chamber story. When others hear about everything the Chamber does, suddenly you have a great deal of enthusiasm for the Chamber and a great deal of support.”

The “Peace-Love & Community” Event will kick off on April 23rd and conclude on April 25th with a huge Success Celebration Party.  All the fun will be directed from the control center at the new Wind Energy Plaza building, 8917 Louetta Road, 4th Floor.
