YMCA Prospective Board Member Open House

The D. Bradley McWilliams YMCA at Cypress Creek serves its community in northwest Houston through programs that focus on eliminating drowning, chronic disease prevention, creating opportunities for social equity and improving academic performance. Our goal is to be a welcoming place for all, no matter who you are or where you come from.

The Board of Directors serves in an advisory capacity to represent and advocate for the YMCA in the community, align the strategic plan of the YMCA with it's community needs, personally support and fund raise to help the Y continue to be a place for all, and help the Y develop meaningful partnerships and collaborations with local entities. The D. Bradley McWilliams YMCA re-opened it's doors to the community on March 17th, 2019 after being devastated by Hurricane Harvey in the Fall of 2017. The Board of Directors is seeking to add up to 10 new board members to help reconnect with the community, identify community needs and further deepen partnerships and collaborations.

While we are seeking high-capacity, engaged board members of any kind, the YMCA is determined to diversify the Board by adding Board Members who fill gaps around age, gender, race, ethnicity, profession and experience.
