Event Description:
Enjoy the following exhibitions at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts this summer, either in person or online! "Stitched: Contemporary Quilt Art from the International Quilt Festival Collection" will be featured in the Main Gallery and includes a collection of 25 contemporary quilts from the Texas Quilt Museum. Artists range from some of the most famous names in contemporary quilt art to emerging artists, with themes including narration, color abstraction, landscapes, and homage to antique quilts. In the Rebecca Cole Gallery, the Pearl will feature "Lesley Humphrey: Saved by a Horse." Equestrian artist Lesley Humphrey of Tomball has been painting or drawing the horse since childhood. Her awe-inspiring views of horse racing have led to a career that has included serving as official artist of the Kentucky Derby as well as works in prominent collections throughout Britain and the United States. You can experience both exhibitions in person or online, as well as participating in a wide variety of at-home art experiences for all ages.
