Lone Star College-University Park will shine a light on some of the ways that organizations and individuals can survive and thrive in the time of pandemic with a free, half-day virtual symposium, Living Innovation, on Thursday, November 20, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Living Innovation features three dynamic sessions that will cover universal issues that all organizations and individuals face, such as home and work life balance, collaboration in a virtual setting, and pivoting to new business models when old ones no longer apply. Featured sessions include "Innovation to Overcome," by Doreen Pei Ching Ng, Vice President, Operations & Compliance, Fulgent Genetics; "Coping in a Pandemic: Taking Care of Yourself While You Take Care of Others," by Amy Tompkins, Community Outreach Specialist with The Harris Center for Mental Health; and "Home and Away," a K-12/higher education panel discussion that will explore solutions for the challenges facing educators, parents and students. Topics covered include home and work life balance, educational gaps, needs of students, and virtual learning.
