Event Description:
Join the Houston Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis May 20 2017! Take Steps is the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s national walk program and Take Steps is hosting its annual fundraising walk on Saturday, May 20. Hundreds of Houston area residents will raise funds for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation by participating in the Houston Take Steps Walk at the Houston Zoo, located at 6200 Hermann Park Drive, Houston 77030.
Registration has opened and participant fundraising leading up to the event has begun. Funds raised by walkers and through event sponsors will support patients who are coping with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Take Steps funds will help transform the lives of those impacted by these diseases, and support CCF’s critical research, education, and patient support programs. Many patients feel they are alone in their struggle with Irritable Bowel Diseases (IBD), not knowing how to explain their struggle with IBD to others. Take Steps empowers patients and provides a safe and welcoming environment for patients and their families to CONNECT and INSPIRE one another. Walk Day is filled with music, food, kid's activities, local entertainment and most importantly, the company of hundreds of people who truly understand the impact of IBD.
7:00am - Check-in and Festival Begins
8:00am - Walk Begins
All walkers are encouraged to donate $25 and commit to raising $250 or more. All participants who fundraise $100 will receive this BRAND NEW "walking for cures" pennant flag, entrance into the zoo, along with the 2017 walk t-shirt and a wristband for refreshments. Kickstart your fundraising efforts with a donation that shows you are committed to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. You can then ask your friends and family to match your donation – you’ll meet your fundraising goal before you know it! Plus, everyone that makes a self donation to their fundraising efforts will receive our self-donation button, recognizing your commitment to fundraising for Take Steps.
