What does healthy dating look like for teens? Students and their parents are invited to this special presentation to find out. Presented by Chelsie Sargent, a licensed professional counselor, the workshop will equip teens to recognize the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships, educate them on the early warning signs of dating violence, and offer concrete advice on what to do if they find themselves in an abusive dating relationship. Teens will also learn how to speak up if they witness abusive behavior in the dating relationships of their peers. The workshop will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, at Kinsmen Lutheran Church, 12100 Champion Forest Drive in Houston, 77066. Admission is free, but registration is requested at www.kinsmenlutheran.org. Chelsie Sargent is an independent licensed professional counselor who has spoken at schools, conferences, churches and universities all over Texas. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and holds a bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University, as well as a Masters of Education degree in counseling and human development from Hardin Simmons University.
